Mila Kunis è Jupiter, una donna delle pulizie immigrata clandestina che con pulisce i bagni dei ricchi russi che risiedono a Chicago, ma incidentalmente è proprietaria dell’intero pianeta terra.
Queste le premesse fantastiche e sopra le righe di Jupiter – il destino dell’universo, un film che ha il raro pregio di lasciare correre la fantasia a briglia sciolta e di spingere le possibilità tecnologiche fino ai loro limiti.

Purtroppo però i fratelli Wachowski, film dopo film, sembrano sempre più incapaci di tradurre la loro ricchissima immaginazione in un lavoro coeso e coerente al suo interno. Se lo scorso, bellissimo e ampiamente sottovalutato Cloud Atlas era salvato da una trama complessa ma coerente derivata dal libro di David Mitchell, qui le tantissime scene d’azione e gli scorci su pianeti mozzafiato non riescono davvero a salvare un film confuso, continuamente spiegato, popolato da interpreti più o meno convincenti e partecipi (Sean Bean, Channing Tatum e il sempre più quotato Eddie Redmayne) alle prese con personaggi poco più che abbozzati.

Per i nostalgici delle grandi avventure fantastiche anni ’80 una visita al cinema la vale, ma è un’occasione tristemente sprecata.
