VARESE – Il concerto di Natale della stagione concertistica d’Ateneo dell’Università degli Studi dell’Insubria è dedicato a “Luigi Tenco e la Francia”, con il Roma Jazz Quintet, un quintetto di impronta jazzistica, composto da Sara Schettini, vocalist in possesso di un notevole impatto sia vocale che scenico, dal pianista e arrangiatore Quintino Protopapa, dal tenore sassofonista Franco Cirillo, dal contrabbassista Piero Piciucco e dal batterista Alfredo Romeo. L’appuntamento è venerdì 14 dicembre alle ore 18 nell’Aula Magna di via Ravasi 2, a Varese.
«Questo progetto è un atto d’amore nei confronti di un cantautore italiano senza il quale la canzone d’autore, per come oggi la conosciamo, non sarebbe stata la stessa, non avrebbe avuto la medesima forza espressiva e la medesima incisività. Tenco ha impresso in maniera incontrovertibile ed indissolubile alla musica nuovi e fino ad allora inesplorati aspetti di comunicazione, emotività e reattività; è stato altresì capace di imprimere nuovi caratteri al genere musicale cosiddetto “leggero” che poi forse tanto leggero non doveva proprio essere; ma soprattutto ha creato nuovi colori, quei colori da cui attingeranno a piene mani tutti i cantautori che si faranno strada dopo di lui». L’omaggio al cantautore genovese è quindi il pretesto per riascoltare i suoi brani più rappresentativi rielaborati dal quintetto romano in chiave jazz, nel più assoluto rispetto delle atmosfere che lo stesso Tenco aveva voluto. L’incontro poi di Tenco con Dalidà, ha dato al quintetto romano il pretesto per omaggiare l’amata compagna del cantautore genovese, con quei brani con i quali la stessa cantante d’oltralpe era solita confrontarsi. Tutti gli elementi del Roma Jazz Quintet sono in possesso di una solida preparazione e provengono da pluriennali esperienze in ambito jazzistico. Una intesa straordinaria ed un interplay davvero unico sono le ragioni che stanno alla base del successo di questo quintetto che si distingue sia per la straordinaria inventiva della vocalist e per la fluidità dei suoi fraseggi cantati, sia per l’originalità degli arrangiamenti e per l’eleganza con cui tutte queste qualità sono miscelate insieme. In particolare, il progetto “Luigi Tenco e la Francia” vanta al suo attivo numerosissimi concerti nei Teatri di città italiane quali Milano, Torino, Udine, Genova, Bologna, Roma, Firenze, Napoli, Messina, Siracusa (solo per citarne alcune) e in ambito europeo come Barcellona, Madrid, Manchester, Atene, Tallin, riscuotendo unanimi consensi di critica e di pubblico.
