VARESE – Con il 2021, anche i cittadini della provincia prealpina sono tornati nei cimiteri con piante e fiori da porgere in dono ai propri defunti, in una ricorrenza che resta tra le più radicate della tradizione nazionale, dopo che lo scorso anno per l’emergenza Covid erano state varate misure anti contagio con orari limitati, ingressi scaglionati e prenotazioni. E’ quanto afferma Coldiretti Varese nel trarre un bilancio del ponte di Ognissanti e dei morti, durante il quale si stima che, in tutta la penisola, siano stati acquistati circa 3,5 milioni di crisantemi ma anche molti altri fiori e piante Made in Italy.

“Il ricordo dei defunti – sottolinea la Coldiretti provinciale – rappresenta la ricorrenza più importante dell’anno per molti italiani e per la floricoltura tricolore che realizza in questo periodo circa 1/5 del proprio fatturato ma purtroppo la produzione nazionale risulta essere in contrazione, a causa della riduzione dei trapianti, nei mesi scorsi, dettata dalle incognite legate all’andamento della pandemia. Nelle due province lariane, il crisantemo si conferma essere il dono preferito in occasione della ricorrenza soprattutto per la sua bellezza e lunga durata. La sua produzione è in calo a livello nazionale lo sforzo per contenere i prezzi al pubblico (in provincia non si sono registrati aumenti significativi nei vivai di produzione) è stato notevole da parte dei floricoltori, che hanno nel contempo dovuto fronteggiare l’aumento dei costi energetici, dei fertilizzanti, delle plastiche e di tutti i fattori produttivi, a monte e a valle della produzione in serra: dalle talee ai trasporti, dai vasi al confezionamento”.

“Una situazione che pesa su un settore che – conclude Coldiretti Varese – si sta riprendendo lentamente dopo il crack provocato dall’emergenza Covid con un taglio del 58% del fatturato di un anno e la perdita di migliaia di posti di lavoro, per effetto delle chiusure obbligatorie e la cancellazione di matrimoni, eventi e cerimonie che hanno costretto a mandare la macero miliardi di fiori.
