VARESE – Buoni risultati sul campo e tra i banchi per gli studenti del College di mezzofondo dell’Università degli Studi dell’Insubria; parola di Silvano Danzi, tecnico specialista per il mezzofondo e docente del corso di laurea in Scienze Motorie.
Sabato e domenica scorsi si sono svolti infatti, ad Ancona, i Campionati italiani indoor junior promesse e, per il mezzofondo, Silvia Oggioni, 20 anni di Gavirate iscritta al corso di laurea in Scienze Motorie, e Silvia Pento, 21 anni di Vicenza iscritta al corso di laurea in Scienze della mediazione interlinguistica e interculturale, si sono fatte valere portando a casa rispettivamente un terzo posto nei 3000 metri e un quinto posto negli 800. Un bronzo nei 1500 è andato anche a Gaia Pigolotti, studentessa dell’Università degli Studi di Milano, che si allena con le colleghe dell’Università dell’Insubria sul campo di Varese.
Risultati positivi anche nelle gare di qualificazione per i Campionati italiani di corsa campestre, Laura Maraga (19 anni, di Belluno, iscritta al corso di laurea in Scienze e Tecnologie Biologiche) ha ottenuto un quinto posto e Ilaria Dal Magro (20 anni, di Belluno, del corso di laurea in Fisioterapia) un ottavo posto, in tal modo assicurando la finale nazionale alla squadra di appartenenza, l’Atletico Lecco. Sul fronte maschile, Andrea Elia, studente del corso di laurea in Informatica, 20 anni di Lecco, ha ottenuto la qualificazione per la gara nazionale di corsa campestre, piazzandosi nei primi 6 posti sia ad Arcisate che a Brescia.
“Questi ragazzi ci danno grandi soddisfazioni – sottolinea Silvano Danzi – e vista la loro giovane età hanno sicuramente ancora ampi margini di miglioramento. Il lavoro di gruppo sul campo sta dando ottimi risultati, quello che si è realizzato all’Università degli Studi dell’Insubria è il primo e unico esempio in Italia di college all’americana, ammirato in tutta Italia proprio perché altrove non si è riuscito a realizzare. I ragazzi, inoltre, sono entrati perfettamente in sintonia con lo spirito dell’iniziativa e si applicano con diligenza nello studio e con grande sacrificio nell’allenamento”.
